lesson -Forests -(post -1)
Hello boys
Today we will start with the next lesson -FORESTS-OUR LIFELINE
"Fortune does favor the bold, and I promise you will never know what you are capable of unless you try." -Sheryl Sandberg
At the end of the lesson you will be able to:
- Write what forests are
- learn how forests act as a safe habitat for animals.
- Tabulate different plants into herbs, shrubs, creepers, climbers and trees
- Relate SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) to the Lesson. SDG 13: CLIMATE ACTION; and SDG 15: LIFE ON LAND
Imagine yourself in the picture. What do you observe?(I assume)You will observe much more greenery than you see here in the cities. You will see a variety of trees and plants of varying sizes. You might be afraid that you are vulnerable to many of the inhabitants of this place. The inhabitant can be a tiger or a fox. Scary, isn't it?😅
A Forest is a large uncultivated piece of land densely cultivated with a variety of trees and plants; and providing home to various animals, birds and insects.
As you observe in the above chart
Different forests look different.
It is because of the different climatic conditions of the different regions.
Therefore, (i) different forests have different types of animals; and (ii) different types of trees and plants.
FOREST ANIMALS AND THEIR HABITATS
Habitat is the type of natural environment in which a particular organism lives and can find food, shelter, protection and mates for reproduction.
Now you may refer to your science textbook Page no. 268. You will find examples of a variety of habitats of animals. (Please note those in your notebooks)
Can you add to those examples? Try and write two examples by yourself.
